The Constitution of India is the cornerstone of the nation’s democratic structure, a monumental achievement that codifies the principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. It is a comprehensive blueprint that governs the country’s political and legal systems, reflecting the collective wisdom of leaders and freedom fighters who envisioned a free and just society. Constitution Day, observed annually on November 26th, serves as a reminder of the document’s enduring relevance and the responsibilities it places on citizens and the government alike.
Educational institutions and organisations across the country engage in activities to deepen understanding of constitutional values. Honouring the Indian Constitution, the Literary Club - Adhyayan conducted an elocution contest that challenged students to reflect on the significance of the Constitution. The topics included the Role of the Constitution in safeguarding democracy, promoting social justice, and addressing contemporary issues like digital privacy and governance.
Students discussed about the Constitution’s directive principles, guiding the state, creating policies that uplift the poor and marginalised. Students appraised the monumental contribution of Dr B.R. Ambedkar- the Principal Architect of the Constitution, his dedication to social reforms and legal scholarship that shaped the document that transformed the society. The winners of the competition were appreciated for their participation and contribution.
