Libraries stand as luminous beacons in the landscape of human civilisation, illuminating minds and shaping destinies. They are repositories of books, sanctuaries where knowledge breathes and ideas flourish. Cultivating the habit of reading is akin to planting seeds of wisdom that blossom throughout one’s life, enriching intellect and character. The Literary and Fine Arts clubs Adhyayan-Anany together led a dynamic series of events celebrating the spirit of libraries from 14th to 21st November, 2025. The Library Week, celebrated nationwide, honours the monumental contributions of Dr S.R. Ranganathan to Library and Information Science. His five laws of Library science revolutionised the way libraries serve communities, emphasising accessibility, preservation and user-centric services. The roots of libraries trace back to ancient civilisations. The Library of Alexandria, one of the most famous in history, symbolised the pinnacle of human intellectual endeavour, housing scrolls and manuscripts from across the known world.
The campus buzzed with creativity and intellectual vigour as students engaged in poster making, depicting the allure and necessity of reading. Debates challenged participants to critically analyse the impact of social media and Artificial Intelligence on traditional reading habits, an issue of growing concern. Essay competitions invited students to envision a future where AI might supplant physical libraries, sparking imaginative and thoughtful discourse. Winners of various contests were lauded with prizes and accolades bestowed, recognising their exemplary talents. In addition, the library also felicitated Best Library Users who earnestly utilised the library resources, by setting a shining example for students, embodying the spirit of life-long learning.
