Alaap 2025: The Sound of New Beginnings, Where New Voices Find Their Rhythm

Education is a voyage of discovery, growth and transformation. Every new beginning in this voyage lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning, development and contribution to society. Recognising the importance of this foundational phase, the Institution organised the Induction Ceremony Alaap on 31st October 2025, to celebrate the commencement of the academic journey of newly admitted MBA and MCA students.

Alaap was a grand celebration that sets the stage for the new educational journey of students, reinforcing their commitment to growth and excellence. The name Alaap signifies a musical note or harmony, symbolising the beginning of a melodious educational journey that integrates knowledge, skills and values. It is a platform where students are formally introduced to the academic community, their mentors and the broader campus environment.

The grandeur of Alaap was accentuated by the presence of distinguished personalities - Shri Datla Hanumantha Raju Garu, a practising Company Secretary, founder of DHR & Associates, and Chairman of PMC Trust, who shared valuable insights on professionalism, ethics and leadership. Shri V. Raj Kumar, an eminent scientist from DRDL Hyderabad, enlightened students on scientific innovation, curiosity and the importance of research. Dr N. Ramakrishna Reddy, Deputy Vice President and Zonal Manager of TATA AIG General Insurance, emphasised the risk management and resilience in personal and professional life. Mr Anudeep Aurora, Chairman of Aurora Group, and Dr Madhavi M, Director of Aurora's PG Colleges, focused on the importance of lifelong learning and institutional values to the newly joined students.

Dr P. Shirisha, Professor and Head of the Department of Management, elaborated on the program structures of MBA and MCA, designed under the autonomous guidelines with advanced course contents. Further, Dr D. Pavan Kumar, Professor and Controller of Examinations, introduced the Innovative Scheme of Assessments, which aims to develop creativity, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a continuous and comprehensive evaluation system.

The talent appreciation ceremony at Aurora was followed by the solemn administering of the oath, where students pledged to honour the teaching fraternity and uphold their responsibilities as proud 'Aurorians.' This was succeeded by the revered tradition of reciting the Thotakashtakam, a luminous garland of devotion composed by Thotakarcharya, a devoted disciple of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya. This sacred hymn is a rhythmic homage, eloquently echoing the eternal bond between the guru and disciple, symbolising the deep yearning of the soul for knowledge and liberation. It inspires generations to embrace learning with gratitude, discipline and an enlightened heart, encouraging the holistic growth and lifelong dedication to truth and wisdom.

Post the formal sessions, the campus blossomed with the cultural performances of students, who showcased their talent through various acts such as singing, dancing and drama, enthralling the audience in a spirit of unity and celebration. The performances reflected cultural diversity, teamwork and enthusiasm, reinforcing the importance of a well-rounded personality.
