Department Academic Committee
Creation of the Committee
The Department Academic Committee has responsibility for oversight of all matters related to academics of the department. The committee exercises the power in decision-making, examination, evaluation and consultation of all academic affairs of the department.
Objectives
- To examine or make decisions on important issues concerning student handbooks, session plans, subject allotments, time table, student’s projects, disciplinary construction, and other academic affairs that need the examination of the committee.
- Oversight of teaching commitments of academic Staff in the department
- To examine and make decisions or authorize to examine and make decisions on teaching and research achievements, projects, awards and academic requirements of students.
- To ensure that the academic activities are planned in a way to achieve PSO’s and CO’s.
Selection procedures
The Committee consist Heads of the Department and faculty member in the Departments. The faculty gives their choice to act as members in the committee and based on the choice given, the members are selected.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Department Academic Committee:
- Preparation of reports based on curriculum analysis.
- Collection of subject preference from faculty.
- Identification of contents beyond syllabus.
- Allocation of work load to faculty.
- Preparation of time tables.
- Display on the notice boards and information to website coordinator.
- Monitoring of course file preparation.
- Preparation of database of students admitted.
- Monitoring of handbook preparation.
- Preparation of HOD’s Calendar.
- Monitoring of lab manual preparation.
- Attendance verification of students
- Make recommendations to the College Academic Committee for development of student’s academics.
